Positive Energy is a Renewable Resource
I know what it’s like to be depressed. I know what divorce, grief and the death of loved ones can do to your outlook and psyche. But my default setting is POSITIVE - to see the good in things and the potential and the possibilities. Yet I continue to run into people that don’t know what positivity is nor how to be more positive. To them, a positive frame of mind feels forced and false.
Our attitudes make our realities. Our beliefs shape our outcomes. Look at things from the Half Glass Empty perspective and THE GLASS WILL ALWAYS FEEL EMPTY. Assume the worst and the worst will find a way to become tangible. But be open-minded to a different attitude, and things change. Life changes, for the better. Or at least, for the tolerable.
I wish I could seed the atmosphere with some kind of Possibilities chemical - one that got people to think about how good they have things, even when they’re not great; to appreciate the beauty around them or find beauty in it. A chemical that helped people find the motivation to see things in a brighter perspective, in which anything was possible, and to find the motivation to make that reality happen, rather than bitching, whining, and distracting themselves with activities that perpetuated distance from a better future. I can’t help those who would wallow in negativity and cynicism and sarcasm and self-pity. The desire to change has to come from within.
Seeing this video makes me happy. Everyone in it seems like they’re having fun. Makes me remember that while life can be rough and times can be tough and some days just suck, positive energy makes even sucky days worth living. Enjoy!
